Who is your favorite soccer team? Favorite player? The mighty
Clydebank FC. Steven Gerrard, the complete player.
What do you enjoy most about coaching soccer? I love to share my
love of the game with others. It is really cool to see players enjoying the game
and improving as they progress at JUSC.
If you were not coaching soccer, what would you be doing? Working
as a mental health counselor, similar to working at JUSC!
Other than soccer, what is your favorite sport? There are other
sports?
Other than soccer, what are some of your hobbies and interests? I
love music: Checking out new bands, collecting records and playing the guitar.
If you had 4 words to describe yourself, what would they be?
Scottish, soccer, passionate, mullet.
What is your favorite movie and your favorite character from that movie?
Braveheart- William Wallace (That was an easy one- FREEEEEEEEDOM!)
What is your favorite TV show? Football Matters and Special 1 TV,
bring them back please!
What is your favorite musical artist? Wow, that’s a toughie. I’ll
go with the Beatles.

If you had one day to spend anywhere, where would you go and what would you
be doing? I’d go home to Glasgow to see my mammy. Hi mum!
What is your biggest pet peeve? Flat soccer balls! Why even bring
them to practice? Get some air in them please!
If you could have one superpower, what would it be? To pass the
ball like David Beckham. Although, flying would be sweet.
If you could have dinner with 4 people, who would you invite, and what would
you be eating? I would invite my mates: Broon, Harper, Forry and
Turley. All hilarious and good lads, famous people are dull anyway. Let’s see…we
would have… Maureen Moffat’s famous mince and potatoes. YES!
What is the best piece of advice given to you? My dad has a great knack
of putting things into soccer terms so that I can relate to them. One of the
most memorable was with regards to me being impatient and frustrated with
things. He told me, “sometimes you need to get the ball on the deck and knock it
around a bit, things will open up, and then you just need to stick your chances
away”. Life is about being smart and patient, and then seizing opportunities
when they come your way.
I helped him out in a similar way one time when I was in the passenger seat and
he pulled almost pulled out in front of an oncoming car- I simply shouted “Man
on!”
