John Sheridan
John Sheridan, aka Shedzy, brings 16 years of semi-professional playing and coaching experience to the JUSC. Through his substantial playing and coaching experience, Shedzy has developed a strong philosophy of positive teaching methods. His enthusiasm and work ethic serve as positive examples for our kids.
During his time as a staff member of English Professional Club Walsall F.C, Shedzy worked with the U13 boys in the club´s Center of Excellence. Shedzy was also was selected to work with the management team of Leamington F.C. and was instrumental in the introduction of an innovative development program for youth players.
Shedzy joined the Urbandale Soccer Club in August 2001, and has coached their teams for older girls over the past four years. During this time, he has built relationships with college coaches that have helped in the placement of many student athletes to college soccer programs. A staff member of the Iowa ODP program, Shedzy has been responsible for the program’s oldest girls’ teams for the past two years, and is currently head coach for the 1990 team. Shedzy holds the English F.A. first aid and coaching certificate, and has also obtained the USSF "B" License.
